History

Tornado Technologies Inc. started in 1984 with the building of a single flare pit ignitor and the rest, as they say, is history. Our founder was a field operator who recognized that many of the products he was working with left a lot to be desired in terms of reliability and performance. He started with the philosophy that everything can be improved. And the company was born.

Today - Tornado is a recognized leader in the field of oilfield combustion having built over 7,000 flare systems worldwide and counting. Our incinerator designs are considered the industry standard for responsible engineering and ultimate reliability. And our process equipment is leading edge, designed to maximize productivity for our clients.

In 2006 Tornado was bought by Petro Field Industries Inc., a Calgary-based manufacturer of custom designed process and production equipment. The two companies integrated facilities and product lines.

In 2007 our entire company was renamed Tornado Technologies Inc. to capitalize on the strong brand name recognition Tornado had built over its history.

In late 2007, Tornado became part of the Empire Industries Ltd. Group of companies (www.empind.com).
